- This position is 100% onsite at the Clinton Clean Energy Center in Clinton, IL. The first two-to-three days on onboarding activities will take place at the Braidwood Nuclear Generating Station in Braceville, IL.
Overview
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security & Desktop Support Analyst to support cyber equipment for the nuclear site in an air-gapped networking environment. The Cyber Security & Desktop Support Analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing a process for cyber security monitoring, incident detection, and incident response. The Cyber Security & Desktop Support Analyst will be working as the primary operations support resource, but will have guidance from a centralized team of 15 peers for instances of escalated issues. The Cyber Security & Desktop Support Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Installs software releases, system upgrades, evaluates, and installs patches and resolves software related problems
- Performs system backups and recovery
- Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity
- Uses pre-defined procedures to maintain and resolve issues related to cyber security at a Nuclear Station
- Maintains and supports existing IT Cyber Security products and processes
- Keeps IT Cyber systems up to date with latest patches and AV/IDS signatures
- Reviews system logs and reports for indications of compromise
- Performs antivirus updates
- Administers cyber security monitoring systems
- Images laptops
- Performs walkdowns of systems and wireless scans
Overall, the Cyber Security & Desktop Support Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that systems are operating properly, and escalating issues to Cyber Engineers and/or Cyber Subject Matter Experts as documented in existing processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of experience in providing desktop support for Windows 7 and Windows 10 – OR – High School diploma and 5+ years of experience providing desktop support for Windows 7 and Windows 10.
- Highly skilled imaging and deploying laptops/desktops.
- Basic knowledge of computer networking.
- Basic, hands-on experience in cyber security.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for investigating security incidents and determining the root cause of potential threats.
- Ability to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities relevant to nuclear or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong communication skills to explain security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team collaboration experience, especially in cross-functional environments (e.g., working with IT, engineering, or operations teams).
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, especially during incident response situations.
