- This position is predominantly remote. Candidates must be based in Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia. Roughly once per month, the team meets in Reston, VA or Washington, DC.
Overview & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our client’s dynamic team at a leading health insurance provider. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, customers, and development teams to support an ongoing Agile transformation. You will lead feature development by gathering and analyzing requirements, creating detailed user stories, and ensuring smooth project execution. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing customer requirements from SOWs, functional documents, or requirement documents to assess system impacts on UI and backend/web services.
- Writing detailed user stories for UI and backend components.
- Collaborating with project owners and stakeholders to refine and groom features.
- Supporting systems used by call center and customer service operations teams.
- Working in an Agile environment, utilizing tools like Jira and contributing to Agile ceremonies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of business analysis experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess the impact of feature changes on systems.
- Experience in Agile or Scrum software development environments, including writing and refining user stories.
- Proven ability to analyze and evaluate the impact of feature changes on web services to ensure system stability and functionality.
- Strong understanding of UI and backend systems, with the ability to decipher their impacts and dependencies.
- Experience in writing clear, detailed user stories for both UI and backend/web services components to support Agile development processes.
- Proficiency in Jira and workflow tools like Visio.
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong communication, conflict management, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Healthcare or health insurance experience, especially in claims processing and enrollment.
- Experience supporting call center/customer service operations.
- Familiarity with SaaS reporting applications.
- Relevant Agile or Scrum certifications.
- Familiarity with designing and delivering business change using business analysis tools.
- Experience with process management and cross-functional team collaboration.
