    Terms of Employment

    • W2 Contract, 12 Months
    • This is a Hybrid role (part-time in-office), Remote – Mondays and Fridays, Office (LC3 Oakbrook Terrace) – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Site visit for each project once per month
    • Monday through Friday, 5x8hrs/week (Core Hours are 09:00 to 15:00)

    Overview
    Our client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee utility installation and relocation projects within the West-Suburban region. This role is responsible for the full project lifecycle, including the interpretation of civil construction plans, financial forecasting of monthly cash flows, and conducting field walkdowns across various regional sites. The successful candidate will ensure that utility projects—spanning electric, gas, or water—are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strong oversight of contract proposals and vendor bids.

    Responsibilities
    • Manage a workload of 10-12 active utility projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
    • Review and interpret complex civil construction plans to ensure project alignment with engineering standards.
    • Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasting, specifically managing monthly cash flows for all assigned projects.
    • Evaluate and review contract proposals and bids to ensure competitive and qualified selection of vendors.
    • Conduct regular site visits and field walkdowns across the West-Suburban region, including areas such as Rockford, Elgin, Freeport, DeKalb, Aurora, and Crystal Lake.
    • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical issues related to utility relocation.
    • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders using professional behavioral communication standards.

    Required Skills & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Technical field, or Project Management.
    • 3+ years of professional Project Management experience.
    • Significant experience in the Utility sector (Electric, Gas, or Water) or Civil Construction, specifically working on utility installation/relocation projects.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil construction plans.
    • Proven experience in financial forecasting and managing monthly project cash flows.
    • Demonstrated experience reviewing contract proposals and vendor bids.
    • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate behavioral-based reporting and interviews.
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently to various field locations within the regional territory.

    Preferred Skills & Experience
    • Direct Utility Relocation experience gained with a utility provider, construction firm, or engineering firm.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license

    • This is a hybrid schedule at Oakbrook Terrace, IL (Tues, Thurs & Wed onsite, Mon & Fri remote)
    • Work Schedule: 08:00 AM-05:00 PM

    Overview

    Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead, execute, and manage large-scale information technology projects within the organization. This role focuses on long-term project planning, initiation, and delivery oversight, ensuring all initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and in strict alignment with established quality and governance standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep familiarity with the organization’s legacy applications and modern platform transitions, allowing them to hit the ground running without a training curve to immediately manage project scopes and stakeholder communications.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all aspects of project planning, initiation, execution, and closure for long-term IT initiatives.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, defining scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
    • Lead cross-functional project teams and manage resources to successfully achieve project delivery goals.
    • Monitor project progress and performance against the baseline plan, proactively taking corrective actions when necessary.
    • Identify, track, and manage project risks and issues, developing robust mitigation strategies.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and critical issues transparently to stakeholders and senior management.
    • Maintain rigorous financial and delivery accountability across all assigned IT portfolios.
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure external deliverables align with project standards.
    • Conduct regular project meetings and reviews to track progress, facilitate decision-making, and manage accurate, up-to-date project documentation.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.
    • 5 to 7+ years of proven, senior-level IT Project Management experience.
    • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strictly required.
    • Prior contractor or employee experience working within the client’s specific IT systems, networks, and corporate platforms is required to ensure immediate project immersion.
    • Strong understanding of applications and infrastructure, with specific experience navigating changing project management standards within a Customer and Corporate Platforms (C&CP) IT environment.
    • Strong ownership of IT delivery and governance, with a proven track record of handling hands-on project execution and planning.
    • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, cross-functional coordination, and leadership skills to effectively guide project teams.

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Recent experience within the client’s network and familiarity with updated internal PM standards.
    • Hands-on experience or familiarity with  Success (supplier portal), PHI website, and Contact me applications.
    • Experience or familiarity with migrating legacy applications to modern systems, specifically moving toward ServiceNow solutions and Oracle Service Cloud – Email Response Management System (ERMS).
    • Proven experience leading and developing web or portal development projects.
